Arched shutters

Here's what a set of pure white 63mm slat shutters with an arched top look like in a Totteridge mansion - surrounded by £46,000 worth of marble !!!

BNI conference

BN I is the world's largest business networking organisation.

BN I works on the basis that members help each other to gain more business through word of mouth referrals. The greatest portion of our business comes from satisfied customers referring us on to other new clients.

We have been members for over 10 years.

If you want to know more about BNI send me a post or email

At this year's BN I conference we occupied a small stand to assist with our marketing and here is the picture.

Duo roll

Here's an installation carried out in Bushey. Douroll blinds, 4 in a line with individual motors and micro alignment options

Designer garden and patio awning

Shame we didn't have the before photographs. However this installation is a pair of cassette awnings , one 4mtrs wide and one 5mtrs wide . Both project to 3000mm - perfectly aligned with the front glazed section of the patio.

Believe it or not...... The Bonzai tree cost more than the two awnings !

Installation in Elstree Hertfordshire

Here's a another before and after photograph of a Bushey Blinds quality shutter installation.

There is also a midrail in line with the upper opening windows to give total control over the light and privacy.

Awnings

We normally upload before and after photographs on the same post however because it's been so long since we saw the sunshine here's a before pic.

This property is going to have 4 awnings placed along the back to encompass the patio area. It will be completed in 3 weeks so watch this space for the after pics !

Traditional shutters installed in a cottage in Totteridge. 63mm slat with traditional surrounds

The pic is so good it almost looks like a magazine shot !

Commercial installation

Part of our business is commercial. Working for a number of quality contractors and also for office based clients. This week a visit to the offices of Hilton Hotels in Watford revealed that some of the
existing blinds needed an overhaul and that some of the finance department suffered from glare.

We attended the offices out of hours to minimise disruption and installed 11 secondary blackout blinds for use when the low sun was too strong for the existing blinds.

We then overhauled the blinds in the conference rooms.

vertical blinds

whilst we pride ourselves on our wooden shutter installations and our motorised blind installations we also provide our commercial and domestic customers with a wide range of options. Here is a standard installation of vertical blinds across a patio door , location Hatch End. Note the label on the right hand side of the blind, it is a childsafe information tag.

child safe blinds

Saturday 2nd March

4 installations completed, all of these were roller blinds and all fitted with child safe attachments. As members of the UK's regulatory body for blinds companies, the BBSA, we always make sure that our installations comply with safety regulations.

One boys room blue blackout blinds in bay window and one girls room, another pink roller blind !

Wooden Shutters, February

Last week saw the completion of our largest wooden shutter installation of the last 12 months. Working with the clients interior designers we were asked to provide bespoke shutters to a large period property in Bristol that is currently undergoing major renovation works.

Above is the image from the master ensuite bathroom.
We installed shutters in 19 windows in total, using 89mm slats in a vintage style surround with centre tilt rods and midrails. The shutters were colour matched to the paintwork.
We will upload some more of these images onto the projects page over the next couple of weeks

Not every job is a straightforward installation.
One of the more unusual ones was also last week in Hampstead Garden suburbs

We were given the task of turning a plain bedroom into  "Princess Palace". By using the two pink faux suede chairs as the starting point we installed white wooden shutters to the large rear window and installed a bright pink blackout roller blind behind the shutters.

showroom refurb.

So much for xmas break !! We made a decision to change the displays and refurbish the showroom. So new Years eve  is being spent ripping the place apart.

At the moment it looks like someone emptied a skip in there but soon there will be an extra 4ft of display space and with a little moving around we will have Hertfordshires premier motorised blind showroom as well as the most comprehensive selection of premier window shutters to complement our usual fine displays of contemporary blinds, awnings, and curtains

week ending 20 nov

Further to last weeks blog, an installation of 10 Bali black roller blinds has totally transformed our Abbots Langley customers kitchen / dining space. We also continued in our quest to fit shutters into as many houses in Bushey and Oxhey village as possible with an other quality installation in Haydon Rd.

On the commercial front we received another order for the Virgin Atlantic offices at Gatwick - this time for motorised venetian blinds. A long drive to survey a new build office site at Solihull in Birmingham resulted in a confirmed order for 36 venetian blinds to be installed next week.

The image on the left is the showhome at Aldenham Square where we installed roman blinds and voiles to the lounge and bedroom windows

week ending 13th Nov

Hectic week . all shutter orders for pre-Xmas are now in, should be busy installing from the 17th to the 24th !! thanks to Jane for referring us to Maria, thanks to George for bigging us up to DC and thanks to DC for sending Claire over to the new showhome on Leavsden, she liked our work so much she has placed an order herself.

Bushey Blinds & Awnings was commissioned to install shading to the rear of a large property in Northwood.
In order to bring both awnings to a level position we constructed steel support brackets to raise the awning up over the pitched roof.
Standard green and white striped Bahamas awnings with radio remote controls.

Bushey Blinds & Awnings was asked to provide a solution to shade the rear decking of an extensive Bushey Heath property. We installed an 11 metre wide coupled unit to allow the customer maximum shade whilst still giving full use of the decking.
Clever use of structural brackets allowed to use incorporate the drainpipes. Single radio remote control and wind sensors fitted.

Bushey Blinds & Awnings was approached by the builders of a large detached property in Hadley Wood. We were asked to provide multiple shading options to the rear South facing gardens. With client approval we offered 2 separate B50 Tortola units to shade the seating are and main windows and a Jamaican canopy over the centre doors

As well as bespoke domestic and residential awnings Bushey Blinds & Awnings provide many commercial awnings to shopfronts and restaurants.
Locally we have provide awnings for St James and Zaza in Bushey, a double fronted installation at The Catch in Bushey Heath (allowing 20 customers to be seated outside). In London , and below, a double coupled unit with signwriting  for Café de Paris on Baker Street
